MK. Ram Ben-Barak

Member of the Knesset (Yesh Atid Party) and the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs & Defense Committee.

Ram Ben-Barak is a former member of the Israeli security forces and an Israeli politician. He served as deputy director of the Mossad and director general of the Ministry of Intelligence and Strategic Affairs. Ram was born and raised in Moshav Nahalal in the north of Israel. In 1976 he joined the IDF and served as a combat soldier and as an officer in the “Sayeret Matkal” commando unit. In his last position he served as commander of the Counter-Terrorism Division until his release in 1981. In 1984 he joined the "Mossad". Ram was a combat and commander of special operational units of the “Mossad”. He served as the head of the operational directorate and from 2009 to 2011, he served as deputy head of the Mossad. Afterwards, he was loaned to the IDF and served as coordinator of special operations. Mr. Ben Barak was a visiting research fellow at the Saban Center for Middle East Policy at the Brookings Institution in Washington DC. On January 15, 2018, he announced his joining the Yesh Atid Party. Mr. Ram Ben Barak served as President of Fortify Solutions Ltd and member of the board of Technologies and Cyber companies. Currently, Mr. Ram Ben Barak serves as a Member of the Knesset (Yesh Atid Party) and as the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs & Defense Committee.
