Maj. Gen. Zohar Dvir

Deputy Commissioner, Israel National Police, Israel

Major General Zohar Dvir serves today as Deputy Commissioner of the Israeli Police. His police service began in 1999 when he enlisted to the Israeli Border Patrol, where he served as the Company Commander of Yamam, the Israeli Police's Special Police Counter-Terrorism Unit, and then as the Chief of the Operations Division of the unit. During the Second Intifada, Dvir served as the chief of the Yamam in its entirety and at the start of 2007, Dvir was appointed commander of the Valleys Region in the northern district of the police. In July 2009 he was appointed Deputy Commander of the entire Northern district a post he held until July 2011 when he assumed the position of Head of the Logistics Support Division of the Israeli Police. In January 2014, Dvir was appointed commander of the Northern District. In February 2015, he received command responsibility for the Coastal district, and in December 2015, he was appointed Deputy Commissioner of the Israeli Police.
