The Steven H. Stern Workshop on Cyber-Terrorism

The Steven E. Stern Workshop

on Cyber-Terrorism

Recent years have seen the exponential growth of the cyber world. While the rise of this sphere has proven to be advantageous in the ease in which information and services have become available with the click of a button, there are also significant vulnerabilities associated with the cyber-space which have been exploited for terrorist purposes.

This workshop aims to explore this new frontier of terrorism attempting to understand the threats that emanate from the cyber-space as well as the options available to mitigate the threat. Workshop experts will discuss the current state of cyber-groups, following the fall of the Islamic State, and will provide an up-to-date picture of developments in the cyber realm that have taken place in the last year. This will include an exploration of the nexus of terrorism and crime, as well as the recent rise in use of digital currency by terrorist entities. The workshop will also investigate options for response to these threats, and countering of the phenomenon.
