Mr. Naftali Granot
Mr. Naftali Granot is a senior Mossad operative, who retired in 2007 after 25
years of active field service as the head of the HUMINT division and deputy director
of the Mossad.
Born in Haifa in 1951, Granot joined the IDF Special Forces in 1970 and served
in the Gaza Strip, fighting against Palestinian terrorist organizations. After two years
as an instructor at the officer’s academy, he joined as an officer the paratrooper
brigade which crossed the Suez canal during the 1973 War.
He graduated from Haifa University in 1977, served as a major in the
counter-terrorism branch of the Military Intelligence Directorate from 1978 to 1982.
In 1982, Granot joined the Mossad and after graduating from the training
academy, he served in Lebanon in various Western Countries. Granot was
nominated Head of the HUMINT division in 2002 and as deputy director of the
Mossad in 2007.
Granot was involved and lead many ground-breaking operations and received in
2004, the highest security decoration from the President of the State of Israel.
After his retirement from the Mossad, Granot served as the CEO of a company
dealing with mining licenses in Africa until 2013. He is currently a director of a
local security company and represents several Chinese infrastructure companies in Israel.
