DAC Lucy D'orsi

Deputy Assistant Commissioner (Specialist Operations), Metropolitan Police, United Kingdom

Lucy D’Orsi joined the Metropolitan Police Service in 1992 and

has broad experience of working with London’s diverse

communities and leading policing teams in challenging policing

environments.

 

She has worked in various specialisms; Central

London Clubs and Vice, Territorial Support Group, Counter

Terrorism Policing and as part of the Senior Public Order Command

Team on events including the Papal Visit, National Union of

Students March, G20 and numerous Premiership Football matches.

She led Operation Peyzac as a Superintendent, a covert operation

which recovered numerous firearms and saw suspects collectively

sentenced to in excess of 300 years imprisonment. Lucy was

Borough Commander for Hammersmith and Fulham in 2011 where

she achieved a reduction in crime to a 10 year low. Lucy then

attended the Strategic Command Course in 2014. Appointed as

Commander in July 2014, Lucy had responsibility for policing 9

East London boroughs and a portfolio including Neighbourhood Policing, Anti-Social Behaviour and the MPS Special Constabulary. She was Gold Public Order Commander and had responsibility for the Chinese State Visit in 2015.

 

Lucy was delighted to be promoted to Deputy Assistant Commissioner in December 2016 and was posted to Specialist Operations, leading on Protection and Security, including Royalty and Specialist Protection, Parliamentary and Diplomatic Protection, Aviation Policing and Protective Security Operations. As part of the UK national CONTEST strategy Lucy leads on Counter Terrorism Policing’s engagement with private businesses, Operation Temperer, protective security and preparedness. Lucy is also the UK lead for Less Lethal Weapons and has recently led policing operations for London’s New Year’s Eve, the RAF100 and the Presidential Visit of Donald Trump.
