Lone Wolf & the Terrorism Threat
Lone-wolf terrorism has been a phenomenon on the rise around the world. With the fall of control by the Islamic State in Syria, and the competition between terrorism entities, groups are quick to take responsibility for attacks perpetrated around the world by lone-wolf attackers.
Israel recently experienced a serious wave of attacks, perpetrated by Palestinian lone-wolf attackers. This workshop will delve into the world-wide phenomenon of lone-wolf terrorism, discussing the challenges of lone-wolf terrorism and suggest methods for mitigating the threat. Additionally, the ICT will unveil the results of a thorough research project conducted over the last year and a half in cooperation with Israel's Ministry of Public Security, its Research Department and the Israeli Prison Services (IPS) on the topic of lone-wolf terrorism, using particularly the Israeli case study.
