Prevention, Preparedness & Recovery 

One of the primary goals of terrorists around the world is to create a culture of fear that stems from the continuous threat of attack as well the target for attacks. Historically, terror groups choose soft targets over ‘hard targets’ for attacks as they are easily accessible to large numbers of people and have limited security. These locations can be sport venues, shopping malls, schools and hospitals. In order to best cope with the threat of terrorists, countries must ensure that their population be aware that the threat exists, be prepared in case of an attack and be resilient enough to cope with the threat. In addition, countries must ensure that they have proper recovery methods in place, in case a terrorist attack does indeed occur.

 

This workshop will discuss the importance of a resilient society, methods of being prepared without creating mass panic, and best practice preventative measures needed to protect soft targets. Experts will also address proper recovery techniques from around the world, providing the audience with tangible take-away messages.
