Dr. Alexander Brakel

Dr. Alexander Brakel is head of the foreign office of the Konrad-

Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) in Israel since October 2017. Previously,

he was deputy head of the Archive for Christian-Democratic Policy

at the KAS headquarters in Berlin/Sankt Augustin. From 2012 to

2014, he headed the KAS foreign office in Belarus. Dr. Brakel

served as a CDU board member of the regional association in

Schönhauser Allee, Berlin. Dr. Brakel studied History and Slavistics

in Mainz, Glasgow and Voronezh and wrote his dissertation on the

German and Soviet occupation of Belarus during the Second World

War. Dr. Brakel is also a published author.
